Summer Snacks
I like any good excuse to eat out, and summer is perfect for getting out of the house to explorer and soak up some food and vitamin D! Here are some of my favorite eats this summer in Los Angeles.
I had the pleasure of shooting with my friend and photographer, Natasha Lee, at LocoL in Watts, for Food and Wine Magazine's Best restaurant article, out in stores now.
The food is BOMB.COM. Silly, I know. But for those who like to get a little creative with their palette, you have to check out this spot by the renown Roy Choi. They have everything from burgers to ramen, breakfast all day, vegetarian options, and a secret menu (of course!)
I have a terrible vice....sweets! When I heard there was a cotton candy joint in my neighborhood of Koreatown, I knew I had to check it out...and I was not disappointed. Cotton Hi's cotton candy is all organic and chemical and color dye free, and their soft serve is Au natural...just pure sugar goodness for the sweet tooth connoisseur like myself!! I will definitely be back soon to try more of their flavors.
I went to LA Food Fest for the first time, and I had such a blast! What a great way to experience Los Angeles' diverse and excellent eateries all at once!
This delicious cheesy goodness is the award winning Bacon Mac n Cheese from Richeezemelts. I had my eye on this tasty delight ever since it popped up on my Instagram news feed. I'm a sucker for mac and cheese, and this took me back to my childhood days of the good old mac and cheese with cut up hot dogs...but this sexy beast has a gourmet grown up taste with bacon on a sweet Hawaiian bun.
This delicious cotton candy cloud heaven is from Cloud Food Creations. They're known for their unique creations, from emoji cloud poops to Captain America's shield! That takes talent and this bad boy was destroyed within minutes.
